After a bit of a delay, due to the unexpected news that we will be moving soon, I finally finished the first page in my 'Life in the Past' scrapbook album.
Here is my first layout in the album for my children documenting my life up until the time I married my first husband.

I took my inspiration for this page from this card by Lisa Spangler on the Studio Calico blog. Read on to find out where to find the rest of the elements. |
I wanted this album to have a vintage feel but still keep it clean. I was browsing the internet one day, (Probably started on Pinterest, don't ya think?), and wound up at Vintage Glam Studio where I found this page that I printed and cut out.
As you can see, there were words on the cards that didn't quite fit with my layout, but the strategic placement of hearts and punch outs took care of that.

Next I pulled out a very old Stampin' Up!® set to make the gold embossed lines that peek out from a couple of places. I added embossed vellum made with the Flowers emboss folder from Sizzix and popped a few of the cutouts up using Stampin' Dimensionals from Stampin' Up!.
The photo of me, and the picture of my birth details were scanned in and printed as photos that I cropped and adhered to the page.
All in all, I'm tickled with this layout and I'm really looking forward to doing the next page.
